U.S. Veteran

Mr. Gary Wayne Cooke, age 57, of Dublin, died Thursday, November 14, 2013, at the Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Louisville. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 18th, at 1:00 p.m. at the May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Zeta Cemetery in Tennille. The Reverend Wayne Evans will officiate.

Mr. Cooke was born in Louise Virginia. He worked as a truck driver for Howard Sheppard, Inc. and he was a US Army Veteran. Gary is predeceased by his father, Dewey Edward Cooke, Sr.; a son, Jacob Franklin Cooke; and a brother, Donald Ray Cooke.

Survivors are his mother, Bertie N. Cooke of Dublin; siblings, Nancy C. Baugus of Sandersville, Jimmy Cooke (Norma) of Seabrook NJ , Dewey E. Cooke, Jr. (Gabi) of Tacoma, WA , George W. Cooke (Helen) of Pensacola FL, Darlene C. Shiver (Keith), David Cooke, Chris Lamb all of Dublin and John Cooke of Statesboro; his wife, Betty C. Cooke; children, Amber Cooke (Chalfonte) and Brandi Cooke all of McKeesport, PA; grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Monday from 12 Noon to 1:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service.

May and Smith Funeral Directors of Sandersville is in charge of these arrangements.
